Accounting Book — entity reference

A parallel valuation perspective for a company — statutory, tax or management — under a named accounting framework. Exactly one book per company is primary: that is the real general ledger the statements post to, while the other books reuse the same ledger and layer a per-book valuation overlay on top rather than keeping a separate set of journals. The book is where a company opts in to cost-flow methods that need explicit acknowledgement, such as last-in-first-out or standard cost in a statutory book, and inventory valuation policies attach to it.

Fields

FieldLabelTypeRequiredWhat it does
AllowsLifoAllows LifoBooleanAn explicit opt-in to last-in-first-out inventory costing for this book, meaningful only outside a statutory framework that forbids it. It exists as a deliberate switch so the choice is a recorded decision rather than a side effect of a valuation policy.
AllowsStandardCostAllows Standard CostBooleanAn explicit opt-in to standard costing inside a statutory book, acknowledging that the standard has to be trued up to actual cost at period end. Leaving it off is what prevents a valuation policy from quietly using standard cost in the filed accounts.
BookTypeBook TypeTextStatutory, Tax or Management. The statutory book is the one whose figures are the filed accounts; the other two reuse the same general ledger and differ only through a valuation overlay, so they are perspectives rather than separate sets of journals.
