The best distributor management system in India is the one your distributors will actually bill from: it has to work offline in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, apply your trade schemes and turn them into claims, raise GST e-invoices and e-way bills from the distributor's own invoices, and keep your ERP or Tally in step without someone re-typing. This guide compares nine DMS software products sold to Indian consumer-goods brands and distributors on those five questions — offline use, schemes and claims, GST e-invoicing, ERP sync and pricing model — from what each vendor publishes about itself.
We make one of the nine — xMatix — so read how the table was built before you read the table. If you are past comparing and want to see a product, go to FMCG distributor management system software →
How we built this comparison
Every fact about another vendor comes from that vendor's own website, read on 19 October 2026, and each source URL is recorded in this page's source code. We did not use review sites, listicles or sales calls. Where a vendor's site does not say something, the table says not stated publicly — which means "ask them", not "they can't". Facts about xMatix are limited to what our own product pages state. There are no star ratings and no winner: the right DMS depends on whether you are the brand or the distributor, how many distributors you have, and what already runs your books.
If you are new to the category, start with what distributor management system software is for — DMS software for distributors in India covers why brands fund it and what the distributor needs from it. This guide is about choosing between products.
First, decide which side you are buying for
"DMS software" covers two different kinds of product, and comparing across them without noticing is the most common shortlisting mistake:
- Brand-side DMS suites are bought by a brand and rolled out to its distributors, so the brand gets secondary-sales visibility, schemes that mean the same thing in every territory, and claims it can settle. Botree, Bizom, FieldAssist, BeatRoute and PepUpSales sell this way, usually alongside their own SFA app.
- Distributor-side billing software is bought by the distributor to run its own business — billing, stock, GST, accounts — often for several brands at once. Gofrugal, Marg ERP and Distributo are built this way.
Brand-side suites increasingly read data out of distributor-side tools (Tally and Busy imports are common), so the two kinds meet. xMatix sits on both sides of that line: the distributor's operations, the field team and the brand's view run on one platform and one data model.

Read this as a map, not a ranking. "Not stated publicly" means the vendor's website did not say it on 19 October 2026. Several capabilities above are stated on a vendor's blog or a sister product rather than its main DMS page; the table says so where that is the case.
The products, one by one
xMatix
xMatix runs distributor operations, field sales and the brand's view on one platform: the order a rep captures, the distributor's GST invoice and the secondary-sales figure the brand sees are the same records, so there is no DMS-to-SFA integration to maintain. Schemes cover quantity, value and item-group conditions with discount, free-item and reward-point benefits, budgets and a consumption ledger, and claims are generated from the lines that earned them and settled line by line — the mechanics are on our distributor claim management software page. It is the right shape when the pain is the seams between systems; a distributor that only needs billing will find it more than it needs.
Botree DMS
Botree's own site positions its DMS as India's leading distributor management system for CPG companies. Scheme and claims management with claim validation is central. Botree has variants for different distributor realities: MyDMS for multi-company distributors, and FlexiDMS, which captures secondary sales from the distributor's own Tally or Busy without changing their billing tool.
Bizom
A route-to-market platform spanning sales, distribution and retail. Its DMS runs promotions at distributor and warehouse level and lets distributors submit claims to brands for price changes, returns, damages and promotions; e-way bills are generated from invoices. Bizom also offers a retailer app, chat-based ordering and an ONDC module.
FieldAssist
An AI-assisted platform that links distributors, field teams and retailers. Its DMS covers billing, payments, returns and scheme management with a click-to-claim interface, and lists pre-built APIs for SAP, Oracle and Tally. A retailer app supports multiple languages and offline access. We compare its architecture with ours in FieldAssist alternative.
BeatRoute
An SFA and DMS platform with AI agents. Its DMS bills retailers with the scheme already applied, tracks each claim with its proof through to settlement, and — on its FMCG page — generates GST e-invoices and e-way bills at billing and syncs both ways with SAP, Oracle NetSuite or Tally. Distributors who bill from their own accounting software can keep it.
PepUpSales
An SFA and DMS platform for CPG and FMCG brands with trade-scheme management and a claim settlement workflow from creation to approval. It names the widest list of accounting tools in this table, including the ones Indian distributors actually use — Tally, Busy, Marg ERP and Vyapar.
Gofrugal
Distributor-side software: a cloud DMS with built-in GST accounting that raises e-invoices with IRN and QR code and e-way bills, offline outlet operations, head-office schemes with a claim process, and integration with manufacturer ERPs and Tally. A good fit for a distributor that wants one system for its own books.
Marg ERP
Distributor-side billing and ERP for FMCG distributors and wholesalers, with schemes, discounts, claims, credit limits, GST e-invoicing and e-way bills. Marg is itself the accounting system and publishes its edition prices; a reporting layer covers multi-location distributors, and retailer and salesman ordering apps run on Android.
Distributo
Billing and management software for distributors, stockists and wholesalers, with a field sales app, schemes, GST invoices, e-way bills and e-invoices, and Tally integration. It publishes per-user prices, including a free tier, which makes it easy to try. Brand-side claim settlement is not described.
India specifics that should shape the shortlist
- E-invoicing threshold. Businesses with aggregate turnover above ₹5 crore must register B2B invoices on the Invoice Registration Portal and print the returned QR code; many mid-sized distributors are above it. The e-invoice should come from the invoice the distributor just made, not a later upload — see e-invoicing.
- E-way bills. Consignments above ₹50,000 need an e-way bill before the vehicle moves — a full van load easily crosses that. See e-way bill.
- Tally is the default ledger. Most Indian distributors already keep books in Tally or a similar tool. Decide whether the DMS replaces it, reads from it, or posts into it — the three are very different projects.
- Tier-2 and Tier-3 connectivity. Order capture, scheme pricing and collections happen in markets with weak signal. Test offline yourself; a vendor's "works offline" can mean anything from a cached catalogue to full order and invoice capture.
- Multi-brand distributors. A distributor carrying five brands will not run five brand DMSs happily. Ask how the product handles a distributor who also bills other brands.
Coverage is planned upstream of all this: if your reps' beats are still on paper, look at beat planning software alongside the DMS, and at SFA software for FMCG for the field side — our SFA buyer guide compares those products the same way.
What to check before you buy
Feature grids converge; what separates distributor management systems is how they behave on an ordinary Tuesday in a distributor's godown. Run every shortlisted product through the same ten checks, with your own data and your own worst distributor.
- Trace one scheme to one claim. Create a slab scheme with a free-goods benefit, book an order that qualifies, invoice it, and ask to see the claim it produces. If the claim is a report someone exports and re-keys, the dispute is designed in. Scheme logic is explained in how trade schemes work in FMCG.
- Switch the phone to airplane mode. Take an order, apply the scheme, record a collection — then reconnect and watch what syncs, what conflicts and what gets priced again on the server. A demo on office Wi-Fi proves nothing about a Tier-3 market.
- Raise an e-invoice from the distributor's own invoice. Not from a portal screen, not from an upload utility: from the document the distributor just made. Then cancel it inside 24 hours and see whether the books follow.
- Ask what posts to the ledger. Every invoice, credit note, collection and claim settlement either posts to accounts by rule, or a person exports it to Tally or the ERP. Know which, document by document.
- Name the system of record for the outlet. If the retailer exists in the SFA, the DMS and the ERP with three balances, decide now which one wins — or choose a product where there is only one.
- Load your messiest distributor's masters. Opening stock by batch, open receivables, a price list with exceptions. Migration effort is the most under-quoted line in any DMS proposal.
- Check credit control at the point of order. A retailer over their limit should be stopped — or routed to an approval — when the order is taken, not discovered at month end.
- See secondary sales from the brand's side. The brand funds most DMS rollouts for visibility. Confirm the brand view is built from the distributor's actual invoices, not a monthly upload.
- Get the commercial model in writing. Per user, per distributor, per module, implementation, support, integrations, and what happens to the price when the network doubles. Several vendors in the table above do not publish prices — that is normal in this category, but it means the proposal is the only document that binds.
- Pilot one territory end to end. One distributor, one beat, one scheme, one claim, one month. If the pilot cannot close a month cleanly, the rollout will not either.
Where xMatix fits — and where it doesn't
If your distributors only need billing and books, a distributor-side product with published prices may be all you need. If your ERP and distributor systems are settled and the gap is visibility, a brand-side suite that reads from Tally may serve you well. xMatix earns its place where the problem is the seams — schemes disputed between the field order and the distributor's invoice, outlets that exist in three systems, claims reconstructed at quarter end — and you want the field, the distributor and the brand on one set of records with GST e-invoicing built in. To see that on a working product, go to FMCG distributor management system software. (Looking for a dealer management system for vehicle dealerships instead? That is Auto DMS software, compared in our automobile DMS guide.)
Common questions
Which is the best distributor management system in India?
There is no single best one. Brand-side suites (bought by the brand, rolled out to distributors) and distributor-side billing software (bought by the distributor) solve different problems. Pick the side first, then shortlist on offline use, scheme-to-claim handling, GST e-invoicing, ERP sync and the commercial model, and pilot one territory.
What is DMS software?
In consumer goods, DMS software is a distributor management system: it runs a distributor's stock, orders, invoicing, schemes, claims and collections, and gives the brand visibility of secondary sales. In automotive the same acronym means a dealer management system.
How much does distributor management system software cost in India?
Of the nine products here, only Marg ERP and Distributo published prices on their websites on 19 October 2026. The others, including xMatix, quote per project — typically on users, distributors, modules, migration and integrations. Ask for implementation and support in the same quote.
Does a DMS replace Tally?
It can, but it does not have to. Some DMS products include accounting, some read data from the distributor's Tally, and some post entries into it. Decide which system holds the books before you choose, because it changes the whole rollout.
Do we need a DMS and an SFA app?
Usually both: the SFA app runs the field team's beat and captures the order, the DMS fulfils, invoices and claims it. What matters is whether the two share one set of records or are integrated — see DMS vs SFA vs CRM.
