The best dealer management system for an Indian automobile dealership is the one that runs the showroom, the workshop, the OEM's claims and the GST paperwork on one set of records — and that your OEM will accept. This guide compares eight dealer management system (DMS) products that Indian dealers shortlist, on the questions that decide a decade-long purchase: which vehicles and market each is built for, whether it works on a phone in the yard, how it handles warranty and OEM claims, whether GST e-invoicing comes from the sale, where the accounts live, and how it is priced.
We make one of the eight — xMatix — so read the method before the table. If you already know you want to see a product rather than compare a category, go to Auto DMS software for Indian dealerships →
How we built this comparison
Every fact about another vendor comes from that vendor's own website, read on 19 October 2026, and each source is recorded in this page's source code. We did not use review sites, listicles or sales conversations. Where a vendor's site does not say something — whether its app works offline, say, or what it costs — the table says not stated publicly. That is not a criticism: it means you should ask. Facts about xMatix are limited to what our own Auto DMS page states. There are no ratings, no scores and no "winner", because the right answer depends on your OEM, your vehicle categories and how many businesses your group runs.
A word on terms: in automotive, DMS means a dealer management system. In consumer goods the same three letters mean a distributor management system — that is a different product, compared in our guide to distributor management system software.

Read this table as a map, not a ranking. "Not stated publicly" means the vendor's website did not say it on 19 October 2026 — ask them directly. Two products here (Tekion and Autosoft) are built for the US market and are included because Indian dealer groups ask about them.
The products, one by one
xMatix Auto DMS
A dealer management system built as applications on one configurable platform: dealer CRM, test drives, vehicle CPQ and finance cases, VIN inventory and delivery, the workshop with bays and service contracts, warranty claims and dealership accounting share one data model. The vehicle invoice carries GST on the line, generates the e-invoice and produces the RTO outputs from the same record. Its case is strongest for groups that run several vehicle categories, or other businesses alongside the dealership, and want them in one set of books. OEM interfaces are confirmed per OEM during discovery rather than listed as pre-built, so ask about yours early.
Excellon DMS
A cloud DMS from an Indian vendor that covers sales with CRM, service and workshop management, and spare-parts inventory, with a technician mobile app. It states real-time synchronisation with OEM central systems for vehicle allocation, parts catalogues and warranty processing. Two-wheelers, commercial vehicles and agricultural equipment are segments it names, and its platform page also lists cars, three-wheelers, trucks and buses; e-invoicing and e-way bills are handled by a separate Excellon GST product.
eMsys Autonet and Autonext
A Nashik-based vendor with two DMS products: Autonet, described as an enterprise dealership management system for India with vehicle sales, workshop, spare-parts and accounts modules, and Autonext, its cloud-native product. Autonet lists e-invoicing and e-way bill APIs and a bridge to Tally — useful if your accountant stays on Tally.
INFOMAN eDMS
From ACS Infotech in Noida: a dealership system covering vehicle indenting and purchase, stocking, booking, billing and financial accounting, with GST returns reports and TDS handling. Its site names car and two-wheeler dealerships. Workshop, spare-parts and warranty coverage are not described on the pages we read, so ask for them specifically.
DealerSetu
A cloud DMS with built-in CRM for car, two-wheeler, commercial-vehicle and used-car dealers, covering sales, stock, RTO, insurance, accounting, HR and reports. It is the only product here that publishes its prices, and it syncs with Tally and Zoho Books. Workshop and spare-parts coverage are not described on its site, which matters if aftersales is most of your margin.
AutoDMS by Techwrappers
A browser-based DMS for two- and three-wheeler dealers, including electric vehicles, with enquiry-to-sale, workshop management and spare-parts reorder levels. It needs no installation and runs in a phone or tablet browser. GST e-invoicing and warranty claims are not described on its site.
Tekion
A cloud-native platform for franchised dealerships that puts sales, service, parts, F&I and accounting in one product, and states that FCA named it a preferred DMS technology provider. Its site does not state that it sells to Indian dealers, and Indian tax documents are not described. We compare the two architectures in more depth in xMatix as a Tekion alternative.
Autosoft DMS
A US DMS for low-to-mid volume franchise and independent car dealers, with service, parts, CRM and built-in accounting including factory warranty credit posting. We could not find an Indian product of the same name; if a vendor offers you "Autosoft", confirm which company it is.
What makes an Indian dealership different
Most DMS products were designed somewhere specific, and the design shows in the documents they produce. An Indian dealership needs these from the system itself, not from a side utility:
- GST on every document, from configuration. Vehicle GST rates vary by category and have changed in recent years; the DMS should take rates and HSN codes from configuration, so a rate change is a setting, not a software release.
- E-invoicing at the moment of sale. Businesses above the ₹5 crore aggregate turnover threshold must register B2B invoices on the Invoice Registration Portal and print the signed QR code — fleet sales, sub-dealer billing and spare-parts sales to workshops are all B2B. An e-invoice can only be cancelled within 24 hours; after that the correction is a credit note. See e-invoicing.
- E-way bills for vehicle movements. A branch transfer or a vehicle sent to a sub-dealer is a consignment worth well over ₹50,000, so it needs an e-way bill before it moves — see e-way bill.
- RTO paperwork from the invoice. Registration runs on the sale record; the DMS should produce the RTO outputs from the vehicle invoice rather than a clerk re-typing chassis and engine numbers.
- TDS and TCS in the books. High-value vehicle sales and dealer payments carry withholding and collection obligations that belong in the same ledger as the invoice.
- Branches in Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns. Sub-dealers, rural outlets and service camps work on patchy networks. Ask which tasks — enquiry capture, test-drive readings, PDI checks, delivery checklists — work on a phone without a signal.

What to check before you buy
A dealer management system is bought rarely and kept for a decade, so the evaluation deserves more than a showroom demo. Our twelve-question DMS evaluation checklist goes seam by seam; these are the checks that matter most for an Indian dealership before you sign.
- Trace one vehicle sale into the books. Enquiry, test drive, quote with finance, booking, VIN allocation, GST invoice with e-invoice, RTO paperwork, delivery — then find the sale in the ledger without leaving the system.
- Trace one warranty repair into the books. Job card, payer per job line, claim to the OEM, a rejection on one line, the reclaim, the settlement, the posting.
- Ask which OEMs the product is approved or integrated with — in writing. Some OEMs prescribe or certify the DMS their dealers use. If your OEM mandates one, the shortlist may already be made for you; if it publishes an interface, ask to see it working.
- Raise an e-invoice and an e-way bill from operations. A vehicle invoice, a spare-parts counter sale and a branch transfer of a vehicle — each should produce its GST document from the transaction itself.
- Move a VIN between branches. Its history, its valuation in transit and its allocation should survive the move.
- Ask where the accounts live. Built-in dealership accounting, or an export to Tally or an ERP? If it is an export, who owns the reconciliation, and how often?
- Check the workshop's capacity model. Are bays and technicians scheduled, or only appointments? Does the service due-list generate itself from contracts and schedules?
- Open the app in the yard. PDI checks, delivery checklists and service reception happen away from a desk; find out what works on a phone and what needs a signal.
- Price the group, not the rooftop. Branches, users, modules, migration, OEM interfaces and support. Ask what changes when you add a second brand or a used-vehicle business.
- Pilot one branch through a month-end. A DMS that cannot close one branch's month cleanly will not close a group's.
Where xMatix fits — and where it doesn't
If your OEM prescribes the DMS its dealers must use, that decision is largely made; check whether your other businesses can still share one platform. If you are a single-rooftop dealer who wants a published monthly price and is happy to run the workshop elsewhere, a lighter product may suit you better. If you are a franchised dealer group in North America, Tekion's market focus is hard to beat. xMatix is built for Indian dealer groups where the hard part is the seams: a sale, a workshop job and a warranty claim that need to land in one set of books with the GST documents already done, across cars, two-wheelers, commercial vehicles or tractors — and sometimes across non-automotive businesses the same promoters run, such as a distributorship that can use the same platform's FMCG distributor management system software. To see that in a product rather than a table, start with Auto DMS software for Indian dealerships.
Common questions
What is the best dealer management system software in India?
There is no single best one. The right DMS depends on your OEM's requirements, your vehicle categories, how much of your margin comes from the workshop, and whether your accounts must live inside the DMS. Shortlist on those four, then trace one sale and one warranty repair through each product into the books.
Which automobile dealer management software publishes its price?
Of the eight compared here, only DealerSetu published prices on its website on 19 October 2026. The others, including xMatix, quote per dealership — usually based on branches, users, modules, migration and integrations.
Does a dealer management system handle GST e-invoicing in India?
Some do it from the vehicle invoice itself, some through a separate GST product or API, and some do not describe it publicly. If your turnover is above the ₹5 crore threshold, ask to see an e-invoice raised and cancelled from the sale during the demo.
Do I need a separate accounting system with a DMS?
Not necessarily. Most products here include accounting; some also sync with Tally or Zoho Books. Decide whether the DMS is your book of record or feeds one, and make sure every invoice, job card and claim settlement posts without re-typing.
Can one DMS run cars, two-wheelers and commercial vehicles?
Some products name several categories, others focus on one — two- and three-wheelers, for instance. A multi-brand, multi-category group should test each category's quote, invoice and workshop flow, not only the first one demonstrated.
