Plan the beat. Work the outlet. Take the order. Collect. xMatix is SFA software for FMCG field teams in India — beats and geo-verified visits, order capture that keeps working in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets with no signal, schemes priced by rule, and collections against GST invoices — on the same records the distributor's DMS bills from.

What SFA software for FMCG has to do
Sales force automation plans, executes and measures the work of a field sales team. In FMCG that work is a repeating loop over thousands of small outlets, and each turn of it needs six things to hold.
The six capabilities, one by one
Beats that plan themselves
Visit routes carry their own schedules and generate visit plans over a rolling window. Sequencing is versioned — planned, road-network optimized, and learned from what reps actually drove. Beat planning →
Presence you can trust
Geofenced attendance with server-evaluated gates and selfie capture; background GPS trails batched and offline-safe; a geofence tolerance on each visit stop. Attendance →
Orders priced by the same rules
The order prices against the same price lists, applies the same trade schemes and checks the same credit limits the back office uses — and schemes are recomputed on the server at posting. Schemes →
Work inside the outlet
Activity checklists, stock checks and photo capture on every visit; shelf photos measured for share of shelf and planogram compliance with Sense Vision. Merchandising →
Money on the same visit
Outstanding invoices on screen before the order conversation starts; cash, cheque and digital collections allocated to invoices. Collections →
New outlets and van routes
Reps discover and onboard nearby outlets not yet in the universe; van sales load out, sell, invoice and reconcile to the last unit. Van sales →
Offline is the property that decides everything
Field sales happens in basements, market lanes and rural belts that eat signal. An SFA that needs connectivity to price an order fails exactly where it was bought for. On xMatix the native mobile app is offline-first: visits, activity checklists, order capture, payments and photos all work with no connectivity, queue in a durable outbox, and reconcile when the network returns. How offline works →

SFA vs DMS vs ERP — what each one records
The three get bought in the wrong order because each touches the sale. The question that sorts them is what each system is the record of.
| Record | SFA | DMS | ERP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beat plan, visit, geo-verified presence | Yes — its core | No | No |
| Retailer order taken at the outlet | Captures it | Fulfils and invoices it | Usually never sees it |
| Scheme applied on the retailer's order | Applies it in the field | Applies it on the invoice and claims it | Books the brand's side |
| Distributor stock and GST invoice to the retailer | Reads it | Yes — its core | No |
| Collections against retailer invoices | Captures on the visit | Allocates and ages | Brand receivables only |
| Primary sale, brand's ledger | No | No | Yes — its core |
A general category comparison, not a review of any named product. The longer version is DMS vs SFA vs CRM and SFA vs ERP; the category explained from first principles is What is SFA software?
On xMatix both sides are one data model: the field order, the distributor's invoice and the brand's secondary-sales view are the same records. FMCG distributor management system software →

SFA for FMCG — common questions
Does the SFA app work offline in low-network areas?
Yes. Visits, checklists, orders, payments and photos work with no connectivity on the native app — common in Tier-2, Tier-3 and rural markets in India — and sync through a durable outbox when the network returns. Offline guide.
Are schemes and GST applied correctly on field orders?
Field orders price against the same price lists and schemes as the back office, and schemes are recomputed on the server when the document posts, so the field estimate and the settled figure cannot diverge. The resulting invoice carries GST on the line and generates the e-invoice. Schemes & promotions.
Do we need SFA, DMS or both?
SFA runs the field team's day; a DMS runs the distributor's stock, invoicing and claims. Most FMCG brands need both, and on xMatix they share one data model, so there is no integration between them to maintain. Compare DMS, SFA and CRM.
What determines rollout scope and price?
Number of field users, distributors, the applications in scope, migration of outlet and item masters, and integrations. Pilot one beat end to end — plan, visit, order, collection — before rolling out territory by territory.
